At Revolution on July 18th we focused on 2 specific areas:

The Body

1 Corinthians 12:27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

We are all part of the Body of Christ and we all have a vital part to play in the life of the Body irrespective of which congregation we belong to. Our prayer focus related to the fact that, whilst the enemy has a divisive strategy for our separate congregations, God has a plan for His Body to relate to, reach out to and give life to different geographical areas, people groups and cultures. We used the displays of all the congregations in Burton to pray for the one Body of Christ in this town; that it may work together effectively in order to reach this town with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Light

Matthew 5: 14 You are the light of the world - like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.

We are the light in a dark world. Generations of christians have met in this very building to worship God and pray for this town, the playing of the organ signifies that; maybe we can be the answer to some of those prayers?

We are the light, but we also need to walk in the light; to walk with Jesus daily and be shaped into his likeness; to have our characters challenged and refined by the Holy Spirit so that we are not conformed by the world but harnessed by the love and purposes of God.

Our prayer focus related to the people of influence in the town - we prayed for people involved in areas such as politics, education and the law.

We are all people of influence in this town. God does not put an expectation on us to save Burton, but He does want us to be expectant in Him to do that very thing.

We need to be expectant for God to give us opportunities in Tesco's, in school, at work!

The Good News is not for a meeting; it can't be contained by our structures. God wants out!
